Border Crisis & Indictment Sets Rick Perry Up For Good Presidential Bid

As Gov. Rick Perry of Texas prepares to defend himself in court due to the politically motivated indictment from the Travis County DA’s office, people are wondering if the governor is now down for the count as far as his intended 2016 presidential bid.  I contend that he is not.

Perry has been building himself up quite a lot since his failed run for president in 2012.  How he his handily dealt with the Mexican border crisis and the president, and now how he has chosen to take the indictment on in stride.  He is taking the case seriously, but his mugshot gives the impression of a man who sees right through his accusers and could care less.  Not to mention how he has handled with Texas’ economy and having major business’ move into the state, one by one over the years due to the better economic climate.

Democrats should be very scared of Rick Perry as we get closer to the presidential primary, because all attempts to stop him has only built onto his momentum.  They have pretty much aided him in making people forget his ‘oops’ gaffe during the 2012 primary debates.

I am not saying that he will win the primary, but he is going to have a good wave of momentum and support going into the primary season starting summer 2015.  Maybe I’m overstating it, and he will bomb.  But all the signs show that he is going to be a definite favorite come next year for the Republican presidential primary.

Condoleezza Rice And Mia Love Give Most Memorable Speeches At The Republican National Convention

The Republican National Convention might have had issues at the beginning, with the unpredictable weather and threats.  But the three-day event came off as a success with Mitt Romney becoming the official presidential nominee of the republican ticket.  But the big news over the three days came from two speeches from one known person and one unknown.

The first speech came from current mayor of Saratoga Springs, Colorado and congressional candidate in Utah, Mia Love.  This was her very first speech on a national stage, and with only four minutes to talk her fellow party members, Love blew everyone away.

Just days before only a small amount of people outside of Utah had known who she was.  Mia Love presented herself very well as the embodiment of the American dream, and she briefly touched upon her parents journey to America from Haiti with only $10 in their pockets.  And once her parents made it to America, when hard times came, they did not look to Washington, they looked within.

Love talked about the America that she grew up knowing, was one that was centered in self-reliance and filled with the possibilities of living the American dream.  How small business’ can have big dreams and every child looks to what is said to be impossible and says ‘I can do that!.’

After describing her America, she went after Pres. Obama.  Describing his America as a divided one and one that we are pitted against each other because of social status and income levels.  She touched upon how his policies have failed us and that we are indeed not better off than we were four years ago.

Mia’s biggest applause came from this strong statement –

“Mr. President, I’m here to tell you that the American people are awake.  And we’re not buying what you’re selling in 2012!”

Then she reminded everyone how the American dream isn’t just your story or my story; it is our story.  That our story has been told for over 200 years with small steps and giant leaps.  From a woman on a bus, to a man with a dream.  From the bravery of this generation to the great innovators of today.  And she finished off with this – “This is our story, this is our America.  This is the America we know, because we built it!”

Her appearance on the RNC stage has already helped her raise over $100,000 for her congressional campaign.  And it has marked as a rising star within the conservative movement.  Mia Love is definitely someone who we should expect great things from in the future.

The next speech that stirred everyone and even left most teary eyed, was from former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice.

Rice’s speech was well delivered.  Her calm demeanor and her quivering tone made it all the better.  Condoleezza started off by recalling her time in the White House during 9-11, and her young assistant coming and informing her that a plane had hit the world trade center.  And how that event changed our feeling vulnerability and sense of security.  Then she brought up the devastating economic crisis of 2008 that still reverberates today with high unemployment and bad policies.

She talked about the Arab Spring and the fight for democracy going on around the world as Russia and China a response as Iraq’s democracy begins to fall a part and Syria is murdering its own people.  As this all happens she says, the world asks, “Where does America stand?”  Since WWII, Rice states, America has had an answer to that question.  That we stand for free people’s and free markets, we will defend and support them.

One of Condoleezza’s main points came as thus –

“I know too that there is a weariness.  I know that it feels as if we have carried these burdens long enough.  But we can only know, that there is no choice, because one of two things will happen if we don’t lead.  Either no one will lead and there will be chaos.  Or someone will fill the vacuum who does not share our values.  My fellow Americans we do not have a choice.  We cannot be reluctant to lead.  And you cannot lead from behind.”

She then moved on to talk about our influence in the world, and the essence of America.  That you can come from humble circumstances and you can do great things.  That it does not matter where you came from, it matters were you are going.  And that our story has never been one of grievance and entitlement, that we have never believed that I am doing poorly because you are doing well.    We have never been jealous of one another and never envious of one another’s successes.

Rice went on and eventually ended her speech on a personal note that left some in tears.  Talking about a little girl who “grows up in Jim Crow Birmingham, the segregated city of the south were her parents can’t take her to a movie theater or a restaurant.  But they have her absolutely that even though she can’t have a hamburger at the Woolworth’s lunch counter, she can become the president of the United States if she wanted to be.  And she becomes the Secretary of State.”

Both speeches still have people talking, and in my opinion were the two best speeches at the convention.  Mainly about where Love will go and what she will do in the future.  And if Rice has any political ambitions in the future, which she has denied many times.

Many other great stars shined at the RNC, but these two women stood out the most.  And it just goes to show how diverse, young and excited the Republican/Conservative base is.

Below are the entire speeches from both Mia Love and Condoleezza Rice.

Pres. Obama Flip Flops On Gay Marriage

It turns out that the presumptive Republican nominee, Mitt Romney,  isn’t the only one that can flip fl0p.  Turns out that our president can to.

For anyone who can remember.  When Pres. Obama was just a candidate for president, he said that he believed marriage was defined as being between one man and one woman.  But when he was a Illinois senator, he was okay with gay marriage.

I, unlike others, do not believe that the president’s hand was forced on the issue because of Vice Pres. Biden‘s remarks that he fully supports gay marriage.  This was a politically calculated move to try to get more votes for his re-election.

He mentioned about being a christian in his interview and interjected Jesus.  Along with talking about how he discussed it with his wife and his daughters and such.  All in attempts to pull in votes.

Also, his interview is making the mainstream media talk about same-sex marriage on the very day that the jobless claims report comes out.  So this also makes you wonder if they had planned for this interview to overshadow any reports that come out this week, and make the media discuss same-sex marriage instead of the economy.

The fact is that the American public is seeing through the facade that Pres. Obama and his administration are putting forth.  And the president’s decision is proving to be not the greatest one when it comes to voters, mainly black voters who are not that thrilled with gay marriage.  So this move might actually be hurting him more than helping him.

Pres. Obama wants to stay as far away from the economy as possible as he now has a record on it, and it is a bad one.  So his re-election campaign will work on talking about his accomplishments.  For instance, how he ‘saved’ the auto industry, that he tried to help Wall St., and of course his health care law.

Be prepared everyone.  It will fall on the American public to talk about the economy, and remind everyone about who Pres. Barack Obama is when they go to vote in November.

Percentage Of Unemployed Is Worse Than What They Say

Lately, the percentage of people collecting for unemployment benefits has gone down.  Governments, and everyone else’s reaction to this, believe this to be a great thing.  But do not believe their puppet tricks.  Remember it is just ‘unemployment claims’ that has gone down.

I believe that it has not gone down because businesses are suddenly hiring again.  On the contrary I have seen next to no signs from employers asking for applications.  Just because the percentage has gone down, does not mean that these people cannot find a job.  It means they either no longer collect benefits, or they have given up trying.

They spout that the Unemployment Rate went down by 0.4%.  In a economy like this I don’t believe people are suddenly finding jobs.  It is like I said before, that people are giving up.  The American worker has become discouraged with the current situation that we are now in.

I know someone down in Florida who says a lot of their businesses have signs out front that say ‘Not hiring until Pres. Obama is gone’.  The reason why is because businesses have no clue what the next regulation, or law is going to be that will make it that much harder to run a business.

My message to you today is, do not believe the Liberals, and even some of the Republicans.  If they were honest and showed the true unemployment rate, of all the unemployed in America.  It would be much closer to 20%.

Do not let them lull you into a false sense of security.  Things are bad, and they are trying to pull the wool over your eyes.

Seek out the truth and do your own investigating.  Don’t let the media do it for you.  Be safe, and remain vigilant.
